Hibernia Networks using Net Insight Nimbra for SHL coverage
Net Insight has announced that Hibernia Networks will expand its media contribution network using Net Insight’s Nimbra platform to transport live video from all major Swedish Hockey League (SHL) arenas in Sweden beginning this September.
Hibernia Networks is a diverse high-bandwidth connectivity provider that owns and operates a global Nimbra-based network connecting North America, Europe and Asia, offering more than 190 network Points of Presence (PoPs) in 89 markets and 25 countries.
SHL will use Net Insight’s video transport solution featuring visually lossless JPEG2000 compression for live video delivery from every SHL venue. The SHL arenas are connected over a Nimbra MSR network, providing very low latency and zero data loss. In addition, Net Insight will simplify installation and expedite the start-up phase, resulting in time and cost savings for Hibernia.
“Our continued relationship with Net Insight enables us to deliver our cutting-edge network and services to our wide ranging customer base,” says Wes Hanemayer, vp of video services at Hibernia Networks. “Net Insight’s ability to provide solutions that simplify network complexities and offer dedicated and occasional broadcasts globally is key to our worldwide success.”
“Net Insight will continue to support Hibernia Networks in their expansion plans across Sweden and worldwide,” says Fredrik Tumegård, CEO of Net Insight. “With Net Insight’s MSR solution, Hibernia can rely on the quality and reliable broadcasts all hockey fans depend on as their favorite team races to win the Swedish Championships.”
