High Viz Media brings esports innovation to DAZN’s coverage of the National League

High Viz Media has secured a major new contract with DAZN to provide outside broadcast facilities for coverage of the National League (NL), the fifth tier of English football. Since July, the London-based company has been producing every match for DAZN, marking a significant expansion of its sports broadcast portfolio.

The deal gives High Viz Media the opportunity to showcase its esports-inspired workflows in traditional sports production. Known for its work with PlayStation, Call of Duty, FIFA, and other major esports and gaming clients, High Viz has built its reputation on cloud-based, decentralised workflows that emphasise flexibility, speed and scalability.

“Scaling from gaming into broadcast is not just about bigger contracts or more cameras,” says Nick Collier, owner of High Viz Media. “It comes with an entirely new set of technical challenges that we must navigate with care.”

The NL project requires High Viz Media to deploy up to 16 camera operators simultaneously across grounds nationwide, supported by an in-house engineering team based at the company’s Great West Studio in London. Since the start of the season, the team has already delivered more than 130 matches, with over 600 expected by season’s end.

This scale has allowed High Viz Media not only to strengthen its established OB and MCR teams but also to bring in new talent, creating fresh opportunities for camera operators and technicians with multi-skilled backgrounds.

Esports and sport converge

Industry trends suggest that the boundaries between gaming and sports broadcasting are narrowing. Esports has long pioneered approaches now gaining traction in sport, from AI-driven highlight generation and fan-led community engagement to scalable, cloud-first infrastructure. High Viz Media’s experience in gaming makes it well-positioned to apply these innovations in live football.

The company’s decentralised crew structure and software-engineering-informed workflow design have already demonstrated the potential to reduce costs, increase resilience and protect TX quality, all while keeping operations UK-based.

For DAZN, the partnership ensures consistent, scalable coverage of the National League. For High Viz Media, it represents a pivotal step in its transformation from a gaming and esports production specialist into a long-term partner for live sports broadcasters.
