IABM delivers German training course

The IABM (International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers) Training Academy will once again offer its “Broadcast and Media Technology — Understanding Your Industry” course tailored for Germany’s broadcast and media companies. This two-day course, which will be run Dec. 5-6 by German media industry expert and trainer Jürgen Burghardt, is desined for broadcast staff, technology suppliers, postproduction personnel, and other professionals who require an appreciation of broadcast and media technology as opposed to an in-depth understanding of it.

“Targeted to new staff members, as well as administrative and managerial staff working in areas such as marketing, sales, support, purchasing, commercial, and human resources, the course will give attendees the opportunity to improve their knowledge base significantly within a conveniently short time frame,” says Steve Warner, training manager at the IABM. “By making this course available once again in Germany, we give members of the country’s broadcast industry another chance to become more familiar with broadcast technology, its associated terminology, and the role that technology plays in the business in which they operate.”

The IABM Training Academy has run this introductory course in the U.K. for more than a year, and the version customized for Germany made its debut in July. Topics covered within the “Broadcast and Media Technology — Understanding Your Industry” course include the broadcast and media production and distribution chain; distribution, delivery, and business fundamentals; broadcast and media technology fundamentals; consumers, regions, standards, and technologies; products, systems, and services; who’s who in the supply chain; traditional media and new media; and emerging technologies and markets.
