IBC 2018: Telos Alliance debuts new Linear Acoustic ARC processor, showcases Infinity IP intercom

The Telos Alliance (stand 8.D47) is showcasing its new Linear Acoustic ARC (Automatic Real-time Control) television processor and Infinity IP Intercom at IBC 2018.

Linear Acoustic ARC Processor
ARC is specifically designed to meet the needs of television broadcasters around the world by offering critical features at an affordable price point with no compromise in audio quality.

“Much of the world’s television audio is still stereo, and we believe high-quality loudness control shouldn’t be out of reach in regions where multi-channel audio, high channel density, and coded audio aren’t needed or required,” says John Schur, President of The Telos Alliance TV Solutions Group. “Linear Acoustic ARC is our next generation television processor that delivers the perfect combination of high performance and economy for myriad users worldwide. It provides all the right features at the right price while maintaining the highest levels of performance and quality that broadcast professionals expect from the Telos Alliance.”

Linear Acoustic ARC delivers a “set and forget” LUFS output loudness target, selectable profiles for easy compliance with EBU R128 and ATSC A/85 recommendations, 2-channel (stereo or mono) processing for up to four independent programs, our next-generation APTO adaptive loudness processing, and more.

Linear Acoustic ARC will have an MSRP of $3,995.00 USD (approximately €3,950.00 Euro) and is expected to ship January 2019.

Infinity IP Intercom
More than just a talkback system, the Telos Infinity IP Intercom converges voice communication and contribution audio on a single IT backbone employing the latest standards-based VoIP and Livewire+ AES67 AoIP transport. Telos Infinity IP Intercom replaces outmoded matrix technology and provides dedicated features and functionality without compromise or limitations.

“Since its introduction at IBC last year, Telos Infinity IP Intercom has been widely recognized by industry peers and end-users as a breakthrough in AoIP communications,” says Schur. “We will continue to expand the Telos Infinity platform with new hardware and software that deliver even more innovative and creative AoIP solutions.”

Being matrix-free allows plug-and-play networked hardware and software devices to be added to the system as part of a planned or ad-hoc change, without ever worrying that the number of available ports on a matrix might be exceeded. Any networked intercom endpoint can be accessed through the Telos Infinity Dashboard and made available wherever needed – internally or on-air. And since Telos Infinity IP Intercom natively supports Livewire+ AES67, it seamlessly connects with TVSG’s AoIP products as well as those from other supporting manufacturers.

Telos Infinity IP Intercom also easily integrates into existing analog, AES, SDI, and MADI systems using Telos Alliance xNode baseband-to-IP interfaces and other AES67 partner devices. This allows users to retain parts of their existing audio infrastructure and easily realise the many benefits of a new AoIP system.
