IBC 2018: TVU Networks establishes European HQ in Spain

TVU Networks (IBC stand: 2.B28) has seen 12 months of consistent growth after launching its new European HQ located in Barcelona’s Innovation District. Its expanded on-the-ground presence has helped TVU work in closer collaboration with customers and partners in the EMEA region, to provide them with the best solutions to meet their needs for live events and news coverage.

The appointment of broadcast industry veteran David Jorba as Executive Vice President, Managing Director of Europe in Q1 2018, together with direct sales and customer support in all major markets across EMEA, have strengthened TVU Networks’ interaction with major broadcasters in the region. An expanded in-country sales and support presence has enabled closer cooperation with major customers. The Cairo-based Arab News Agency (ANA) invested in 55 units of TVU’s IP video solutions, including TVU One mobile IP transmitters and TVU Transceivers to support its newsgathering operation earlier this year. More recently, France Télévisions selected the TVU One and TVU Nano with TVU Router solutions to support an ambitious project for its coverage of the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on Saturday 19, May.

“Having a strong local presence in EMEA means we can build closer working relationships with our customers and partners in the region,” says Jorba. “Our new European HQ is much larger than our previous regional office and we have seen a fivefold increase in the number of staff. The results are that TVU Networks is seeing steady growth. We are also delighted to have hosted a dedicated event for our EMEA partners for the first time and we can now work in closer collaboration to support customers with effective delivery, top-notch support, and service.”

Amongst the companies that attended the 2018 partner event were BSS Trading, Future Trading, Magic Hour, Professional Show, Qvest Media, and Techex.

“Having support from TVU Networks in our time zone makes a big difference to our customers, and with more events, such as roadshows in the region, we can show our customers first-hand what the TVU solutions can do,” says Russell Trafford-Jones, Support and Services Manager at Techex. “It also gives them the confidence that they will get the support and advice they need both from ourselves and the TVU team.”
