Prominent UK audio consultancy firm RH Consulting is currently marking its 10th year anniversary. Founded in 2005 by independent consultant Roland Hemming, he was soon joined by Lauren Rogers. Together they created a business advising manufacturers and distributors, as well as working on landmark projects including Ascot Racecourse, St Pancras Station, Wembley Stadium, the London 2012 Olympics, Amsterdam Arena, Heathrow and Gatwick airports and many more.

Most recently joined by Richard Northwood, formerly of COMS, RH Consulting can now be considered one of the world’s leading experts in networked audio, as well as offering design, engineering, commissioning and project management services.

RHC advises many leading audio manufacturers on issues as diverse as product development, audio for disability and voice alarm. It is this final area where they are the ‘go to’ source for information on EN54 and compliance in general. They frequently assist with complex compliance issues and sit on a number of committees including the EN54 committee.

The consultancy has also recently produced a lengthy paper on the outlook for audio networking, whilst Hemming co-chaired/devised the successful 2015 edition of the SVG Europe Sport Facility Integration Summit, held in Amsterdam during ISE.

Considering the future, Hemming says: “I think that one of the defining features of RHC is that we have ALWAYS been forward-thinking. We pride ourselves on our ability to predict market tendencies and to stay ahead of the curve. The RHC team is comprised of people who invented the first networked intercom system, the first networked loudspeaker, and we were at the forefront of computer control of audio equipment. It’s our job to challenge the status quo and to encourage people to look ahead and step outside their comfort zone.

“There is no other audio company in the world that does what we do. We love the variety of work that we are involved in and the challenges it presents. We have been offering intelligent audio advice and a unique set of skills for the last decade, and we are looking forward to remaining at the forefront of our business for the next ten years and beyond, continuing to help our clients like no other organization in this industry.”
