LiveWire Sport extends Wimbledon creative content partnership with AELTC
LiveWire Sport has released details of a renewed and expanded agreement with The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) to deliver consultancy, creative content and insights for the Wimbledon championships.
The expanded agreement, which originally began in 2012, will see LiveWire provide year-round support to the in-house team at Wimbledon.
As part of the deal, Leigh Walsh, a 2017 Sport Industry NextGen Leader, has joined LiveWire full-time to manage the Wimbledon relationship, having played an important role within the AELTC team for the past four years on a part-time basis.
Leigh has contributed to LiveWire’s work with a number of key clients since 2013, most notably the Premier League and ATP Media. She will now work closely with the AELTC team as they continue to innovate on Wimbledon’s much-loved traditions.
Leigh Walsh, senior consultant, LiveWire Sport, said: “I couldn’t be happier to take up this full-time role with LiveWire, a company I have always admired. They’re an exceptionally talented group and, even more importantly for me, brilliant people to be in the company of. The opportunity to both work with and grow under the tutelage of some of the most talented people in our field – Alexandra Willis at Wimbledon and the five wonderful directors at LiveWire – is one I relish.”
Alexandra Willis, head of communications, content and digital, AELTC, commented: “We are thrilled to have extended our working relationship with LiveWire Sport in our ongoing pursuit to set Wimbledon apart through innovative content and creative executions tailored to our varied global fanbase. We are even more delighted that Leigh Walsh has joined LiveWire Sport to manage the relationship and ensure that we are continuing to maximise the opportunities available to us as the content creation opportunities in the broader sports and entertainment industries evolve and expand.”
Caroline Cheese, director and co-founder, LiveWire Sport, added: “Like everyone at LiveWire, I’m beyond excited to extend and expand our agreement with Wimbledon, alongside Leigh’s appointment on a permanent basis. Plans for 2019 are already well underway and we can’t wait to see them come to fruition.”
