Mediapro delivers unprecedented broadcast deployment for FC Barcelona vs Real Madrid CF in Liga F

On 15 November, the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Barcelona played host to one of the marquee matchups in global women’s club football: the Liga F Clásico between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF.

Broadcast live by DAZN, the match featured the most ambitious production ever staged for a Liga F fixture, delivered by Grup Mediapro. The broadcast operation included 14 cameras, among them three super slow-motion units, a drone, a Cine RF SteadyCam, and a PoleCam, all deployed to capture every detail on and off the pitch.

The production was designed to match the scale and standards of the world’s top-tier sporting events, aiming to deliver a dynamic, high-impact broadcast aligned with the rapid growth of women’s football.

DAZN’s coverage began 30 minutes before kickoff with a pre-show segment that followed the arrival of both teams and offered rare access to the inner sanctum of the locker rooms, blending handheld footage, ENG crews, and live direction in real time.

The technical setup allowed the match to be covered from a wide array of perspectives. Super slow-motion cameras delivered precision replays of key moments and technical highlights, while drone footage offered sweeping aerial views of the stadium and its surroundings, a rare visual feature in Spanish women’s football broadcasts. The SteadyCam, delivering cinematic-quality images, captured reactions at pitch level, and the PoleCam, mounted on a crane behind one of the goals, provided an additional vantage point for action in the box.

The entire operation was directed from a high-performance outside broadcast unit equipped with advanced replay systems, IP intercoms and real-time signal monitoring, ensuring a smooth, stable, and multi-camera production that met the technical standards of major international sports events.
