Mediawan Sport will be responsible for the editorial production of Ligue 1, following the appointment of the Mediawan subsidiary by LFP Media.
The choice for all four lots included in the tender – Editorial Staff Management; Editorial Production of Matches; Editorial Production of Multiplexes; Editorial Production of Magazines – were awarded to Mediawan Sport, whose “project matches the ambitions of the LFP Media teams”, Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) Media said.
LFP Media launched a tender in June, with two firms reaching the final stage of the process: Mediawan Sport and 21 Production.
In a statement released today, LFP Media said “All the companies that responded to the call for tenders submitted high-quality bids, particularly in the final phase, with 21 Production in particular.”
Jérôme Cazadieu, Senior Marketing & Editorial Director, LFP Media: “The choice of Mediawan Sport is in line with LFP Media’s desire to offer a quality platform to the French public, with strong editorial ambitions.
Frédéric de Vincelles, Managing Director Mediawan Sport added: “We are proud to have been chosen by LFP Media to contribute to the success of the new Ligue 1 platform. This partnership marks an important step for Mediawan Sport, and we will be putting all our editorial and creative expertise at the service of this great ambition”.
The appointment of Mediawan Sport follows last week’s confirmation that LFP is to launch its own channel dedicated to showing Ligue 1 matches.
The McDonald’s Ligue 1 platform will be launched on August 15, when the French championship resumes.
