Michael Hallen is new CEO of Vizrt

Vizrt has announced that Michael Hallen has been appointed as the new CEO, effective August 1 2016. Hallen will be based in the Vizrt Global Headquarters in Bergen, Norway.

Hallen most recently comes from Qmatic Group, a Swedish software and hardware company in the Customer Experience Management space where he was the CEO. Prior experiences include the CEO position at Boss Media (gaming entertainment software) and the CEO position at IFS (ERP software). Furthermore, he has held several non-executive directorships in various tech companies and currently holds two board positions, Fingerprint Cards and Paxport.

Michael is passionate about technology and brings 25 years of experience from global software business. With Michael and the Vizrt team I am convinced that we can continue Vizrt’s track record for innovation, leverage our company’s leadership in broadcast graphics and broaden our scope into leadership in video creation, storytelling and video distribution on all platforms. I also expect Michael and the Vizrt team to expand our client base to include all media companies who create and distribute digital content in video format.”

Hallen replaces former Vizrt CEO, Martin Burkhalter, who recently retired after heading the company for six years. Dr. François Laborie, COO, remains as acting CEO until August 1st 2016.
