Marek Singer has been named Sweden’s Modern Times Group executive vice president of the group’s central European broadcasting operations, replacing Anders Nilsson. Singer will begin his new post in January, moving from his role as chief executive of TV Prima, the Czech free-to-air broadcaster.
Singer will remain a board member at TV Prima and at MTG will take responsibility for the group’s free-to-air television operations in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Hungary, along with pay-television and radio operations in the Baltic countries.
Nilsson has been executive vice president of MTG’s central European broadcasting operations since October last year and has worked at the group since 1992, but he is leaving at the end of the year to work with Millicom International Cellular, the mobile phone operator that is active in 13 countries in Latin America and Africa.d.
