MOOV providing live graphics for Meydan Festival world feed coverage

Leading broadcast graphics company MOOV has confirmed that it is supplying live race graphics for the world feed coverage of horse-racing events during the Meydan Festival. Taking place at the Meydan Racecourse in Dubai, the season will include some 20 dates running from November through to March, culminating in the Dubai World Cup on 26 March.

MOOV managing director Duncan Foot explains: “Using race data from PA Sports and [sourced locally] we will provide a full suite of live racing graphics. Additionally, we will be providing a ‘Pick6’ lottery graphic, in Arabic, for use on the big screens trackside. Later in the season we will also provide live studio graphics from Ealing in London. The Festival culminates in the Dubai World Cup, in March, when the whole presentation will be undertaken onsite in Dubai.”

For this major commitment, says Moov, “we have been able to draw on the experience gained working on Channel 4 racing over the last three years to help design a robust system with total redundancy and flexibility. In addition, we are able to call on highly experienced staff with a particular knowledge of horse-racing.”

Delivered on a tight turnaround of just four weeks from first contact to the completion of installation work in Dubai, the infrastructure being utilised by MOOV includes two graphics systems delivered by ChyronHego in the US. MOOV has also updated its graphics interface and collaborated with RacingUK to develop a comprehensive graphics package.

Established in 2010 by Foot and Nev Appleton, MOOV continues to expand its presence in sports broadcast graphics worldwide. For a recent in-depth SVG Europe interview with Foot, please click here.
