Motorsport.tv to launch new world-first live digital motorsports news channel with Grabyo

Motorsport.tv, part of Motorsport Network, is using technology from Grabyo to support the launch of a live digital motorsports news channel.

Announced in March, Motorsport.tv Live delivers breaking news from around the globe on the network’s over the top (OTT) platform, Motorsport.tv. The service is hosted from studios in London and Miami with bulletins on the hour and the half-hour, framed by additional content in between. Similar to other popular live news channels, a constantly updating lower-third ticker will carry the latest headlines, breaking news and quotes from newsmakers.

Motorsport.tv uses Grabyo Producer, Grabyo’s cloud-based live production platform, to create its daily live news programming to cover major news and features for the leading racing properties such as Formula 1, Formula E, MotoGP, NASCAR, Extreme E and many others.

With Grabyo’s remote capabilities, Motosport.tv’s production team can collaborate on its live news broadcasts from anywhere in the world, ensuring any racing events are covered regardless of location, the company said.

To bring additional insight and context to its shows, Motorsport.tv will host guests from across the world of motorsports, who will appear on broadcasts remotely using Grabyo remote contribution service. The broadcast output will be supported with dynamic viewing experiences for viewers using Grabyo’s integrations with live graphics authoring tool Singular.Live.

“We are excited to launch the news channel and offer live news and insights to the motorsport community,” commented Eric Gilbert, Motorsport.tv president. “Partnering with Grabyo will also allow us to deliver TV-quality short-form video outputs to our 56 million monthly users across our web platforms and also on our social channels. We know that our viewers are looking for more access to motorsports content throughout the week and our mission is to ensure nobody misses a thing.”

Motorsport.tv will also deliver clips and video packages in real-time to its social media channels using Grabyo’s live clipping service and cloud editing tools. Speed matters on social platforms and this partnership reduces the time to publish for all Motorsport.tv video content, maximising engagement for fans.

“We are proud to work with Motorsport.tv to help launch this new live service and expand the way that motorsport fans can access news and live updates on all platforms,” added Gareth Capon, Grabyo CEO. “Enabling Motorsport.tv to deliver a digital service that brings fans closer to the action, while simplifying workflows in the cloud, is a win for fans and production teams alike.”

Motorsport Network is a digital motorsport and automotive publisher with over 56 million monthly unique users. In addition to its digital media interests, it has a tickets and experiences division and a racing game developer, publisher and esports ecosystem provider of official motorsport racing series, Motorsport Games Inc.
