NAB 2011: Evertz taps into servers
Evertz will showcase its Media Server (EMS) in combination with its OvertureRT LIVE and Pharos’ Mediator content and workflow manager, offering a completely integrated facility solution that provides asset-management workflow to file-/non–file-based multichannel ingest and playout systems.
The company says EMS offers superior storage and I/O architecture along with realtime channel HD/SD ingest and playout. Its high-performance core server infrastructure supports multichannel playout facilities for traditional broadcasters or tiered, scalable storage for content-distribution networks.
Now part of the Evertz product line, Pharos’ Mediator allows file-preparation and metadata cataloguing and generates low-resolution proxies for desktop browse applications. It provides media-asset management and channel-playout automation with embedded format conversion for media-server playout systems.
The Evertz OvertureRT LIVE Channel-in-a-box offers channel playout with integrated master control and advanced channel-branding capabilities. OvertureRT LIVE is an HD/SD multi-input switching device that can provide simultaneous playout of HD and SD content with internal conversion.
In addition to the internal H.264/MPEG-2 video-playout server, OvertureRT LIVE offers 1TB of local storage for video and graphics content. It uses realtime graphics for the branding portion of the device.
