NAB 2013: Signiant promises ‘extreme file sharing for media’

The new version of Media Shuttle adds file-sharing capabilities to this popular cloud-based hybrid SaaS solution for delivering extremely large files with extreme speed and cost-efficiency. According to Signiant, the new file-sharing capabilities make Media Shuttle an even better FTP replacement option during an era when media executives are increasingly concerned about the security of high value assets – both those sent via FTP transfer and consumer-grade file sharing options.

The new file sharing features allows multiple users to easily upload and download content from a shared file system. Based on industry analyst feedback, Signiant believes this new Media Shuttle version is the industry’s first only extreme file sharing solution that can send, share and submit multi-GB files fast, easily and securely.

NAB 2013 will also see Signiant showcase CloudSpex, a file validation application that matches file types and metadata against a cloud-based directory of published specifications to ensure that assets comply with customer-defined delivery format requirements. By moving validation out of the client and into the cloud, CloudSpeX provides a uniform mechanism  for automatically checking files against a chosen specification across the entire content ecosystem – with the result, says Signiant, that it greatly decreases errors that can impede time to air and drive up resource costs.
