New addition to immersive audio panel at Sport Production Summit

As news emerges of Lawo’s plan to introduce a new technology for live sports production at IBC 2015, it has been confirmed that the manufacturer’s CEO/president, Philipp Lawo, will join SVG Europe’s Sport Production Summit on 10 September to discuss the long-term potential of immersive audio.

The world-first live broadcast demonstration by MPEG-H Audio Alliance of a new interactive TV audio system at NAB 2015 underlined the amount of activity currently taking place around the creation of more all-encompassing sound environments for home viewing. With Dolby also making great strides with its acclaimed Atmos technology, and console makers continuing to make it easier for broadcast engineers to generate compelling multi-channel sound mixes of major events, this session will provide an opportunity for vendors and broadcasters to discuss the evolution of an audio experience that is commensurate to the UHD revolution – including the specific implications for sports content.

Alongside Philipp Lawo, panellists will include: Robert Bleidt, Fraunhofer USA Digital Media Technologies, General Manager – Audio and Multimedia Division; and Rob France, Dolby, Senior Product Marketing Manager.

Sport Production Summit 2015 will take place at the NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam on 10 September. For more information, and to register to attend, please visit https://www.svgeurope.org/sport-production-summit-2015/full-program/.
