Live Production among new content theatres for Media Production Show 2018

The Media Production Show 2018 (MPS) will incorporate three new content theatres showcasing Live Production, Audio and Digital Disrupters, as well as hosting a Production Services Village for the first time. The event will also feature leading executives and technical personnel discussing a wide range of current industry.

The event also welcomes world-leading experts speaking across a variety of topics, as well as some exciting new exhibitors joining the many companies returning to London’s Olympia on 12-13 June 2018. Registration for the event is now open at www.mediaproductionshow.com.

“For the first time ever at a UK show, we’re excited to deliver a real hands-on experience of the latest technology that delivers a live production experience, while industry leading speakers in our new Digital Disrupters Theatre will examine the colliding worlds of SVOD, VR, AR and other disruptive technologies. Added to these are the new Audio Zone and Theatre, plus the international Production Services Village, as well as some old favourites and a few more surprises in store,” said Charlotte Wheeler, event director.

Visitors to the new Live Production Theatre, say MPS organisers, will gain a true sense of the live environment and find a place to experiment and gain expertise in the technology available today. The theatre will be sponsored by Blackmagic Design, who will be showcasing their latest range of URSA Broadcast cameras.

The Digital Disrupters Theatre will explore the changing worlds of content delivery and consumption through disruption and technology. From the converging worlds of SVOD, new content generators, VR, AR and YouTube, speakers including Sebastian Cardwell, commissioning executive & channel manager of Channel 5 and Matt Stagg, director of mobile strategy for BT Sport, will discuss, debate and demonstrate the latest work from digital content creators and those using new technologies and deliverables in an increasingly digital world.

A new Audio Zone and Theatre, in partnership with Resolution Magazine, will also feature on the showfloor for the first time, with a dedicated theatre covering topics including ADR, sound on location, sound in post, technical seminars and audio case studies from recent film and TV projects. Visitors can look forward to speakers discussing AoIP and immersive audio as well as using the specialised demo pods, which are new for 2018.

The Production Services Village will bring a variety of new companies to the show, offering international production services for producers and the wider production community. Among those already confirmed in this zone are 3 Mills Studios, BTS (Behind the Scenes), Lidar Lounge, Latina and Syncbox VR.

MPS is pleased to welcome industry experts with a broad range of experience to the Keynote Theatre, including Peaky Blinders director David Caffrey and DoP Cathal Walters, production expert Philip Bloom, Polly Hill, head of drama at ITV, and Walter Luzzolino, creator of Walter Presents.

MPS is delighted to confirm a number of industry leading manufacturers and developers will be exhibiting for the first time at the show, including Fujinon, Sigma Imaging, voices.com, Hague Camera Supports, Hawk Woods, Sohonet, Editshare, Ikegami, Aerial Craft, Fujinon and Camera Corps. Exhibitors returning and supporting the show once again in 2018 include Panasonic, Global Distribution, Digibox, Cooke Optics, Altered Images, Blackmagic Design, Canon UK, JVCKENWOOD, Holdan, Fujifilm, Really Bright Media, The Crewing Company, SiSo, Three Four Media, Jigsaw24, WEX Photo Video, LaCie, Garland Partners and Contour Design.

Event director Charlotte Wheeler added: “As MPS continues to grow in size and reputation, we are constantly looking for new and relevant ways to present technology, talent and trends to our creative audience. MPS 2018 already looks like an unmissable event.”
