New outdoor sports platform debuts in Italy
This month a new TV and web platform entirely dedicated to the world of outdoor sports is launching in Italy under the name, appropriately enough, of Sportoutdoor TV. Founder of the channel and experienced Floriano Omoboni has spent a long time developing suitable formats for outdoor pursuits running the gamut from sailing to hiking to winter sports.
Programmes shown by the channel will deal with sports and tourism from the point of view of those who practice them, and with ‘premium’ fresh, current and original content.
The new channel also caters to the travel and tourism industry, thereby offering a timely and panoramic landscape; a unique proposal on Italian TV. Such programs are aired on a local TV syndication of more than 100 stations, on the circuit Odeon (177 DTT), on Dynamic Channel (249 DTT) and on the web platform Streamit.
Omoboni comments: “Sportoutdoor TV was created with the intention of offering the highest quality content to an audience of fans. The TV formats are all original, written, made and produced by our team of professional videographers and are broadcast free to air on different platforms of digital terrestrial television and on the web. Our programmes reach a triple national coverage, thanks to the agreement signed with over a hundred local stations of primary importance. Another advantage is the fact that the main local TV [outlets] have an LCN (local channel number) numbering between 10 and 19, which makes them easy to find.”
All programs, after the first showing in prime time, and in response to the different time zones are aired during several slots in the day to achieve full coverage of the entire national territory. The official audience numbers average around 120,000 per programme, so each day Sportoutdoor TV reaches number of consumers equal to that of many national TV channels.
