News 7 India goes HD with EVS
Pramaya TV, part of India’s Summa Real Media Group, has selected a high definition news workflow from EVS for its News 7 news channel. “We wanted to ensure that we are geared for the evolving broadcast landscape,” said Sachidanand Singh, technical consultant at Summa Real Media Group. “EVS technology gives us the tools to facilitate more channels and meet the ever-increasing requirements needed to be the every best.”
Systems integrator DOTS Techno Creative implemented the new system that facilitates acquisition, post production, distribution, video and audio archiving, and newsgathering operations. “Despite being a new company DOTS Techno Creative has been extremely professional in its approach and has created a solution that we are confident to deploy in our facility,” said Sunil Das, CEO of Suma Real Media Group.
EVS’ XS family, with its native support for a wide range of codecs, ingests media from multiple sources – studios, outdoor shoots, live events and video tapes – and provides complete media control including live editing, multichannel playback, playout and transfer to third-party systems. The workflow, which uses the DVCPRO-HD file format, is tightly integrated with other station components and can be managed from a central location. Aveco Studio Automation and Octopus NRCS were also selected as part of the solution.
Vinayak B Deo, president (projects division) at DOTS Techno Creative Pvt. Ltd. commented: “Our objective with this project was to find a robust solution that offered maximum flexibility. “I’m proud to say that we achieved this goal at News 7.”
“This deployment is an excellent example of the hardworking XS server being used to facilitate high-speed, reliable news operations,” said Stephane Jauroyou, VP Sales APAC at EVS. “We look forward to seeing how the system will continue to perform.”
