NFTS partners with Aerial Motion Pictures for commercial drone training course

The National Film and Television School is partnering with Aerial Motion Pictures, the Oxfordshire-based company that pioneered the UK’s first Independent Commercial Drone Training Course, to launch the UK’s first drone cinematography short course aimed at film and television industry professionals.

The Drone Qualification Course In Partnership with Aerial Motion Pictures (AMP) Home of Fly ICARUS* Commercial Drone Training School takes place between 22 and 24 May 2017 and provides expert advice, theory and practical experience to help camera operators and directors of photography to get closer to the action than ever before.

The three-day course has been crafted by Matt Williams, MD of Aerial Motion Pictures, and his colleague, Operations Director Callum Bannister, specifically to appeal to film and television professionals.

Said Matt: “It is fantastic to be partnering with the NFTS whose reputation speaks for itself. We know ourselves through our own aerial production work that getting as close to the action as possible is easier and more cost-effective using a drone operated camera than a traditional crane. But without the proper training, it’s impossible to fully understand what a UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) is capable of capturing or to get the permissions needed to operate legally.”

Added Callum: “This new course has been tailored specifically to cover off all the relevant technical know-how as well as practical advice needed to operate a drone successfully for commercial film and TV purposes.”
