NGA Summit 2017: Sky’s Martin Black, Dolby’s Rob France and Avid’s Rob Tyler to discuss a year of progress in object-based and 3D audio

Last year’s Next Generation Audio Summit depicted an industry approaching a paradigm shift thanks to the advent of object-based audio and 3D sound. But with some significant trials taking place at major sports events over the last 12 months, is mass adoption for NGA now an imminent prospect – and what can be done to encourage take-up at the consumer end?

These and other critical questions will be addressed during the scene-setting opening panel session at the second annual Next Generation Audio Summit, which is a co-production between SVG Europe and Dolby, and will take place at the latter’s Soho Square, London, facilities on 9 November.

Joining moderator and SVG Europe Editor David Davies will be: Martin Black, Sky – Broadcast Services, senior systems engineer & sound consultant; Rob France, Dolby, senior product marketing manager; and Dave Tyler, Avid, audio solutions specialist manager.
