NTV Russia updates news production with Grass Valley cameras and switcher
Grass Valley worked with local systems integrator OKNO-TV to identify the best programming solutions for Russia’s NTV National Federal TV Channel. After reviewing a variety of options, NTV selected 30 Grass Valley LDX 80 Flex cameras and a Karrera K-Frame S-series 3 M/E Video Production Center Switcher to improve the quality and efficiency of its 24-hour daily news programming.
“As soon as we saw the power and functionality of the Grass Valley solution, we knew that it would be a smart investment for our future,” said Andrey Drukker, CTO from NTV National Federal TV Channel. “Productions are very complex, requiring the ability to work with multiple formats and manage a variety of content streams. It all happens very quickly, so there can’t be any delay. Everything we installed has integrated smoothly into our workflow and has enabled us to deliver top-quality programs to our viewers.”
The LDX 80 Flex provides NTV with single format 1080i or 720p acquisition, where limited artistic tweaking is required. NTV selected the LDX Flex cameras for the stunning imagery combined with exceptionally high sensitivity and low noise performance. Grass Valley cameras have been very well received in the market and NTV appreciates the great after sales support from the local Grass Valley office.
The new 3 M/E Karrera K-Frame S-series complements NTV’s existing 2 M/E Karrera K-Frame, providing proven workflows and simplified control of complex productions, with multiformat support including 1080p and 4K UHD. These unrivalled capabilities are offered as two system packages, with 3 M/Es or 2 M/Es, for exceptional affordability, with up to 80×48 HD I/Os in 6 RU.
