OC SPORT relies on GeoRacing for sailing event tracking

GeoRacing has announced that OC SPORT, a company specialised in the organisation of sailing events and in charge of races such as The Transat AG2R La Mondiale, The Transat Bakerly, La Solitaire Bompard le Figaro and The Route du Rhum, will use the GeoRacing solution for live tracking of its races over the next three years.

The Transat Bakerly, now underway, already uses the new GeoRacing 2D player. Viewers do not have to miss anything about this Transatlantic race between Plymouth (UK) and New York (USA), thanks to the official cartography for web and the mobile app for iOS and Android.

Users can follow the different categories — Ultime, Imoca, Multi 50 and Class 40 — but also the Pen Duick II leaded by Loic Peyron, fighting ‘virtually’ against Eric Tabarly, former winner in 1964 of the second English Transat on the same boat!

A global sports marketing and events company that specialises in professional sailing and outdoor sports, OC Sport will deliver 22 events, across 46 host venues, spanning four continents this year. Creating ‘once-in-a-lifetime experience’ for professional and amateur sports men and women, sponsors and spectators, the OC Sport action takes place on a variety of playing fields – oceans, lakes, mountains and city centres.

“From a delivery and event perspective, 2016 is one of our busiest years to date,” explained Guillaume Semblat, OC Sport CEO. “Our offshore events season is in full swing including the successful re-launch The Transat, we are heading to the USA for the first time with our new Haute Route Rockies cycling event, and the switch to super-exciting GC32 foiling catamarans in the Extreme Sailing Series is now complete. We have also just confirmed a record media value for the 2015 Extreme Sailing Series with independent evaluation agency Repucom, which, for the ninth consecutive year increased it’s media value, with a 13% increase on 2014 figures.”
