Open Broadcast Systems picks SVG Europe “to get in front of the wider sports and sports video industries”

Open Broadcast Systems has renewed its Gold Sponsorship of SVG Europe so that it can  continue to, “get in front of the wider sports and sports video industries”.

Kieran Kunhya, managing director at Open Broadcast Systems, commented: “It is an exciting time to be involved in sports video. As more video providers are vying for sports rights, sports content providers are increasingly looking for new ways to engage audiences and for better, more efficient ways to produce and deliver that content. The result is that it is probably where most innovation is happening right now.

“Before joining SVG Europe, we were already working with a number of sports broadcasters, enabling them to deliver live sports over IP at a fraction of the cost of traditional methods. However, the sports video market is huge, and it is only through platforms such as SVG Europe that we can reach a larger proportion of that market,” Kunhya went on.

He concluded: “Over the past year, SVG Europe has proven to be a great platform to get us in front of the wider sports and sports video industries. Through coverage on the SVG site and attending many of the regular events, we have been able to expand our presence in this market. We look forward to expanding that further with during the year ahead.

Open Broadcast Systems makes it possible to deliver high quality, low latency video content over IP at a fraction of the cost of traditional methods, the company claimed.

It adopts a software-driven approach that means its solutions can be loaded onto any standard off-the-shelf hardware while delivering all the functionality required for video contribution and delivery. This approach also means that it can develop and install new solutions in extremely short timeframes, without compromising on quality.
