Open Broadcast Systems, which develops end-to-end encoding and decoding software, has renewed its Bronze sponsorship of SVG Europe.
The company’s products have built-in 5G support, making it possible for customers to contribute live video over 5G. This has already been proven in a technically demanding environment, transmitting low latency video over public 5G networks in the VW Funcup race at Le Mans earlier in the year. Open Broadcast Systems’ small form-factor C-100 encoders were used to transmit the onboard racing car video from cars travelling at 120mph. With 5G modems attached to the encoders, they were able to deliver high-quality video with glass-to-glass latencies of 250ms in challenging conditions over an eight-hour race.
Open Broadcast Systems also demonstrated 100 millisecond latency video over a 5G private network at this year’s IBC and announced support for NMOS IS-04/05 IN ITS C-200 encoders and decoders.
