Orad launches new graphics-rendering platform

Orad will introduce the second generation of its HDVG graphics-rendering platform at IBC. The HDVG+ is a native 64 bits system with processing and rendering power enhancements. Orad will demonstrate the HDVG+ for the first time at IBC. It will be available for shipping this October.

The HDVG+ can be equipped with up to 16 GB of RAM.  Heavy and complex graphic scenes can be loaded to the render engine.  The HDVG+ uses the latest Intel motherboard and is based on hyper thread multicore CPUs for greater computing power. The nVidia graphics board greatly improves the real time performance of the HDVG+.

The HDVG+ will be available across Orad’s entire range of real time graphics solutions, including its ProSet virtual studio, Maestro graphics suite, 3DPlay channel branding system, Interact interactive graphic system, and PowerWall video wall display system.  Real time shadows, hard mask shadows, and cubic mapping improves the photorealism of the HDVG+.

Like the HDVG, the HDVG+ is a compact 3U rack mounted system. It can introduce up to 12 live video feeds into the graphic scene in SD and up to 6 in HD, as well as play back a wide range of video clips in different formats and resolutions. Additionally, it is equipped with an embedded downstream keyer, video delay, and 16 channels of embedded audio support.  The HDVG+ runs on the Linux operating system and offers hot swappable dual power supply, mechanical and software bypass, and Raid protected storage.
