Oscar Vilda named CEO of DAZN Spain and Portugal

Oscar Vilda, former CEO of Finetwork, has been named CEO of DAZN Spain and Portugal, replacing Bosco Aranguren, who is set to leave the company to undertake a new project.

Aranguren has played a fundamental role in the transformation and growth of the business in Spain, managing to double both revenues and the number of subscribers and consolidating the DAZN brand as a prominent reference in the entertainment and sports industry.

Under his leadership, distribution agreements have been reached with the main operators in the country, such as Telefónica, Orange, Vodafone, MASMOVIL Group and Avatel, in addition to strategic alliances with leading entertainment platforms such as Prime Video and Max.

Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN Group, commented: “We are deeply grateful to Bosco Aranguren for his dedication, strategic vision and commitment over the past three years. Aranguren has been a key piece for the consolidation and growth of DAZN in Spain and we wish him the greatest success in this new stage.”

Vilda joins DAZN from Finetwork, where during his almost two years as CEO he boosted the growth of the operator, making it the fifth operator in the market. He was previously executive director of the operator Oredoo Qatar and was a member of the board of Qatari technology company Starlink, as well as general commercial director at Orange, general manager of the private business unit at Vodafone, and held different responsibilities in the commercial and marketing areas of consumer companies such as Allied Domecq, Pepsico and Schweppes.

Vilda said: “To be part of the DAZN project, driven by the ambition of its managers and shareholders to make the brand the global home of sport and a meeting point for all fans, is probably one of the most exciting challenges I have faced in my professional career. Helping to offer unique and specific responses to the needs of a specific type of customer, transparently and taking advantage of the best available technology, makes this challenge even more exciting.”

Segev added: “We are delighted to welcome Oscar to DAZN. He brings more than 30 years of experience in the consumer and telecommunications sectors in Europe and the Middle East. His experience and knowledge around the brand, customer experience and the development of distribution channels will help us enormously as we continue to drive business growth.”
