Over Exposed acquires 4K OB truck

Over Exposed has acquired a new 4K OB truck to boost the company’s capabilities in delivering high-quality live event coverage.

Described as state-of-the-art and the UK’s largest purpose built 4K cinematic truck, Over Exposed said the OB truck is equipped with the latest 4K production technology to allow it to deliver UHD footage for a variety of events, including sports, concerts, and live entertainment.

The unit can be equipped with up to 20 4K UHD/HDR CCUs and four replay servers “ensuring that it
is fully capable of capturing the very best in live events in multiple progressive formats”.

“Our investment in the new 4K outside broadcast truck demonstrates our commitment to
providing top-tier live event coverage that meets the demands of today’s audiences,” said Ed
Tischler, director at Over Exposed.

“This advanced technology not only enhances our capabilities but also positions us to deliver exciting and immersive content that engages viewers in a whole new way.”

The OB truck, which is based on a Mercedes Benz Axor 2529 26-tonne, 6m rigid chassis, features a Ross Carbonite 4K vision mix with Ross Touchdrive 3S surface.

It features a 20 screen monitor stack, comprising eight individual camera monitors, 10 multi-viewer screens, dedicated transmission and programme preview monitors.

Cameras include Sony HDC 4300/3500/5500 for live events and Sony FX9 for cinematic shoots and music events.

Vision setup includes EVS Axon CCP 4801B Cerebrum broadcast control and monitoring system, Miranda NVision 8280 router and Densite 3 glue and Riedel Bolero backbone routing.

And the audio setup includes Calrec Omega full feature digital 56-fader audio mixer, Riedel Artist 128 talk-back, video and audio monitoring for Dolby 5.1 and an isolated sound room.

Over Exposed added that the truck is designed for efficient setup and operation, allowing the production team to adapt quickly to the dynamic environments of live events and that this latest investment is a testament to the company’s ongoing dedication to innovation and quality.

The 4K OB truck is expected to be fully operational by mid-September.
