Over Exposed appoints Ed Tischler to newly created director role
UK-based outside broadcast and remote production facilities provider Over Exposed has appointed Ed Tischler to the newly created position of director.
Tischler, who previously held the role of managing director at Gravity Media, has been recruited to help founder and owner Russell Martin run the company and expand its outside broadcast and remote production facilities business.
Martin said: “We’re delighted that Ed has joined us as director. Ed’s expertise will support clients, staff, and freelancers; we have so many clients that want to work with us, but we haven’t been able to facilitate them as we just don’t have the capacity.
“Ed’s experience running such large companies will help us grow and expand our outside broadcast and remote production facilities whilst also making sure that we maintain the close relationships we have with our clients.”
Tischler joins Over Exposed after some four years as managing director of Gravity Media, which recently merged with EMG. He has joined Over Exposed as it looks to add more capacity to enable it to take on larger OB projects.
Martin explained: “We’re a stable, reliable and robust boutique outside broadcast and remote production facility. At the moment, we have two OB trucks, two flyaway systems and six remote galleries but we are taking on a 28-ton, 20-camera 4K outside broadcast truck which will help us to facilitate larger projects. We are also installing another eight-person gallery in our HQ that will allow us to support eight-camera fully racked remote outside broadcasts.
Tischler added: “I wanted to take a step further into innovation and how it can be used to best effect. What Russell and his team have already built at Over Exposed provides the perfect platform for us to work together and offer our clients a well-constructed combination of technology and value.
“I wanted to find a role where I could be challenged but within a space that I can bring my experience into best effect. I have long admired what Russell has achieved and we both agreed we wanted to take Over Exposed to the next stage in its journey and this is something that I very much wanted to be part of. It is the ideal size business for being able to sandbox ideas and build out its existing services.
“Over Exposed is already bringing the full range of technical solutions to its clients, from OBs to remote production, but we want to now grow that so we can continue to build on some of the IP Over Exposed has already developed.”
Over Exposed has worked on a host of live events in HD and 4K in traditional broadcast spec as well as increasingly popular digital cinema formats for the likes of Turn Buffalo, Global Radio and DAZN. Projects have ranged from three to four camera add-ons at major sporting events to 10-camera, 4K digital cinema records at the Royal Albert Hall.
