Panasonic’s Kairos production platform now compatible with Viz Mosart
Panasonic Connect Europe today announced its live production platform Kairos is now compatible with Vizrt’s studio automation solution, Viz Mosart.
The development, as part of the Kairos Alliance Partner programme, extends workflow options with automation capability.
Kairos, described by Panasonic as “the ultimate IT/IP platform”, provides control to deliver rich content for broadcast, large screen display and live streams.
Vizrt’s Viz Mosart automates repetitive and complex manual tasks so production teams don’t need to focus on managing technical architecture.
For news, sports or pre-recorded studio productions, Viz Mosart helps manage operational costs, improve output consistency, and maximise the creative leverage of the technology estate.
“The Kairos open architecture easily enables the integration of third-party systems and applications. This addition of Vizrt’s Viz Mosart production assistant solution is yet another example of listening and responding to our customer’s requirements,” said Andre Meterian, director of professional video systems for Panasonic Connect Europe.
“It’s also further evidence of the benefits coming from the Kairos Alliance Partner programme, where about 50 manufacturers and suppliers are collaborating across the production ecosystem to bring increased efficiency, flexibility and content quality to the industry – all based on the Kairos live production platform.”
“Many customers choose Viz Mosart to really maximise the value of their studio investment, unlocking more creative power under each rundown item or button press” added Andy Newton, senior product manager at Vizrt.
“The flexibility of Panasonic Kairos drives our workflows even further towards this aim, and with its integration Viz Mosart is consolidating its position at the cutting edge of software-defined studio production.”
Panasonic said the key benefits of Kairos include unrestricted flexibility of input, output, and operation for efficient live video production and that “unlike a conventional production switcher, Kairos allows as many video layers as the GPU capacity permits. User-defined keys and scaling can be set in each layer without any restrictions”.
Also, that it allows for resolution- and format-independent operation. Mixed input sources with different resolutions, such as HD and UHD, can be processed simultaneously.
It also supports baseband and IP signals such as SDI, ST 2110 and NDI in any combination without external conversion.
As a native IP system, Kairos also supports PTP (Precision Time Protocol) synchronisation and is well suited to remote video production as part of a completely IP-based environment. It incorporates newly developed ground-breaking software that processes ST 2110 and NDI streams of any resolution.
