Pixotope remains ‘at the forefront of innovation’ with SVG Europe Gold sponsorship renewal
Pixotope, which empowers sports broadcasters to tell the most compelling stories possible, has renewed its Gold sponsorship of SVG Europe.
The Pixotope platform streamlines workflows by combining camera tracking, talent tracking, virtual sets, AR and XR functionalities. This eliminates the need for multiple programs and complex integrations, minimising disruption and hardware requirements.
With Pixotope, users can create immersive and visually stunning experiences with intuitive tools for crafting dynamic graphics, tracking game-changing moments, and visualising complex data in real-time.
“SVG Europe is a unique platform to connect directly with the industry’s leading figures,” said chief strategy officer Phil Ventre. “This allows us to build strong relationships and gain valuable insights, keeping our company at the forefront of innovation. By renewing our yearly sponsorship, we go beyond promoting our brand; we actively contribute to the advancement of sports broadcasting as a whole.”
The company has already introduced a host of updates and enhancements in 2024 and the innovations are set to continue throughout the year.
“We’re laser-focused on pushing the boundaries of sports broadcasting in 2024: we have exciting new product launches planned for Q3 that will fundamentally change the way fans engage with their favourite sports,” he added.
Recent projects for Pixotope include an upgraded real-time studio for NHL 2023/24 playoffs, partnering with Warner Bros. Discovery, transforming their multi-technology set in Atlanta into a cost-effective, flexible and advanced production environment.
The company has also worked with partner VFX Group on a virtual studio for ESPN Brasil, to bring the excitement of NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB to Brazilian fans.
“We are also proud that Pixotope has been utilised at the SuperBowl for the fifth time in a row, which with an average of 123.4 million people in the US, became the most watched broadcast since the 1969 Moon landing,” said Ventre.
Pixotope’s impact extends beyond the Super Bowl, having been featured in one of the world’s most-watched sporting events – the Indian Premier League (620 million viewers, 51% up from 2023) in conjunction with broadcaster Viacom18 and WTvision, and soon, TV audiences will have a chance to experience Pixotope Living Photo technology for the upcoming Olympics coverage.
“Additionally, we’ve demonstrated the power of remote production by facilitating E1 Series speed boat race broadcasts in Saudi Arabia: while the Pixotope Camera Tracking was deployed on-site in Jeddah, the graphics engine was operating from a 3,500 miles distant studio at NEP’s Dutch HQ in Hilversum which has the potential to significantly reduce, or even eliminate, the need for an OB truck for live broadcasts.”
