RaceTech appointed to provide Arena Racing Company’s HD coverage from 2019

Arena Racing Company (ARC) has confirmed the appointment of RaceTech to provide HD coverage of all horseracing fixtures from 1 January 2019. Under the deal, HD pictures from ARC’s race courses will be broadcast to independent bookmakers in UK and Ireland through The Racing Partnership (TRP) service. The HD output will also be available to the major bookmakers who broadcast channels to their own betting shops.

New international channels, including those being launched by Vermantia – ARC’s new broadcast facility based in Athens – will also carry the high quality television coverage of UK horse racing.  The HD pictures will also be available for streaming on line through the ATR/Sports MediaStream business and the introduction of the new service will coincide with the launch of Sky Sports Racing.

ARC’s director of media, Mark Kingston commented: “RaceTech have a long history of providing first class outside broadcast facilities and integrity services from UK racecourses and as such we’re delighted to work with them, a racecourse owned company, to do so across the twenty-two ARC aligned racecourses from 2019.

“Providing HD pictures is another step forward in providing our customers – whether they are watching in betting shops, on line or from home – with a high quality product.”

John Bozza, chief executive officer of RaceTech, said: “We are delighted to be working with ARC to facilitate their HD broadcast coverage.  As the industry’s leading OB and integrity service provider, we aim to provide the best in terms of service using the most advanced solutions and technology.  Our highly experienced crews and technicians work closely with racecourses nationwide, the BHA and broadcasters to ensure the highest standards are maintained.”
