Ross Video acquires EagleEye to enhance camera motion systems portfolio
Ross Video has acquired EagleEye from sec.swiss. This strategic move enhances Ross’ camera motion systems portfolio with an even broader set of creative solutions and brings immersive cable camera viewpoints to more productions.
Thanks to the deal, Ross customers and partners will gain access to an expanded portfolio of cable-camera systems, complementing Ross’ spidercam series and extending solutions to a broader range of applications. In addition to the spidercam rental offering, customers will also have the ability to purchase systems for fixed installations, studios and venues.
Systems will be manufactured in Ross’ global manufacturing facility in Canada, benefitting from Ross’ robotic camera expertise and scope and scale of operation.
In recent years, cable camera systems have been a game-changer for sports, motion pictures, rock concerts and other types of video production.
“Cable cameras really bring the audience into the event with camera angles, shots and motion you just can’t achieve in any other way,” commented David Ross, CEO of Ross Video. “Now having EagleEye as part of our portfolio, Ross will be able to offer this creative option to an even broader range of clients.”
Ross’ cable camera portfolio now provides greater production flexibility for motion picture, broadcast and live event applications for both indoor and outdoor use. Customers can access modular 1D, 2, and 3D systems from Ross tailored to diverse needs.
“This move amplifies what we’ve built at sec.swiss, combining our expertise with Ross Video’s resources and vision for growth,” said David Ryner, co-founder and CEO of sec.swiss. “It’s an exciting future for our customers, partners, and the entire aerial camera industry.”
“This acquisition allows us to address the growing demand for cable camera systems with a versatile offering that can cater to both rental and purchase models,” said Karen Walker, VP of camera motion systems & managing director of spidercam at Ross Video. “By integrating sec.swiss’s technology, we’re not only expanding on the spidercam range but also reinforcing our ability to provide scalable solutions for our clients’ most ambitious productions.”
