RT Software wins ERR Estonia bid

Estonian state broadcaster ERR has selected RT Software’s tOG-3d realtime graphics to replace legacy Inscriber 2d systems. Chosen via a formal tender process, the key requirements of the tender included the ability to provide a full range of 3d realtime graphics capability such as text, tickers, clocks, 3d scenes and live video manipulation. Furthermore, easy integration with iNews and ERR specific data and control applications through industry standard protocols, and a user accessible API was mandatory.

Risto Sirts, ERR chief technology officer said, “we had a set of very exacting requirements which went beyond graphics capability to ensure the product was extremely open, both in terms of compatibility with graphics assets and video standards and to ensure we were able to drive the graphics in a sophisticated manner from our own systems. tOG-3d delivered on all counts.”

The tender was won by Mediatrade Oy, RT Software’s reseller for Finland and the Baltic region. The requirement included 3d graphics software, broadcast specification Hewlett-Packard hardware, installation and training. Eero Saarinen, Mediatrade CEO said, “We worked closely with RT in the tendering process and were able to demonstrate compliance with all the requirements of the tender.”
