Save the date: SVG Europe’s Sport Tech UK 2012 to take place in London on 29th March

SVG Europe is pleased to announce that the inaugural SVG Europe Sport Tech UK conference will take place at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on the afternoon of Thursday 29 March 2012. Industry leaders from key broadcasters, facilities companies and sports properties will gather together to discuss topics of importance to the UK sports production industry on several illuminating panels.

‘The State of UK Sports Production’ will examine the issues facing the sports broadcasting community in the UK and what the industry can do about them, if anything? Will 3D ever really be the financial success it was hoped? Are contracts really all going to the lowest bidders? This panel will answer those questions and more.

Meanwhile, the UK has long had one of the most modern Outside Broadcast fleets in the world, but with this accolade comes financial pressures that will be discussed in an ‘Outside Broadcast Perspectives’ panel.

The UK not only welcomes the Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer, but Grand Slam tennis will return to Wimbledon and the British Open in golf will keep the UK broadcast community busy at Royal Lytham & St Annes. Hear from the parties involved in these major events on the ‘Producing The Iconic Events of the Summer of 2012’ panel.

Perhaps even more than its billing as the first 3D Olympics, London 2012 is the Games where the second screen will truly come alive. The final panel, ‘Producing a Digital Olympics’ will look at how all the channels and screens available will be used to maximise coverage and engage with fans. Technology will be one key area of legacy that these Games will leave behind.

In addition to these thought-provoking panel discussions and two insightful keynote addresses, extensive networking breaks will be followed by an evening cocktail party at ‘The Home of Cricket’, ensuring the event will be bursting with opportunities to conduct new business.

Further details will be unveiled over the coming weeks on https://www.svgeurope.org/, but as we expect this event to sell out fast, you are invited to pre-register your interest and reserve a place by e-mailing Andrew Lippe at [email protected]
