Katie Matthews, partnerships director, Little Dot Sport (pictured); Will Giles, managing editor, digital content, The AELTC; and Jose Garnes, head of content, Hexagon Cup, will be exploring how broadcasters, leagues, and rights holders can meet changing fan expectations with more immersive, interactive, and accessible content across platforms during ‘Screens, Stats & Social – Embracing (and adapting) to the new rules of sports broadcasting’. This on-demand webinar from SVG Europe, in association with Ross Video, premieres at 15:00 (UK time) on Tuesday 28 October.
Sports broadcasting is being reshaped by shifting viewing habits, data-driven storytelling, and the dominance of social media, as confirmed by a recent report from Ross Video, entitled ‘A definitive guide to the modern sports viewer’. This highlights that innovation is one of the most powerful tools that broadcasters have at their disposal.
For younger generations in particular, sports content needs to be suitable for increased consumption via smartphone or tablet, while there is also a strong desire for innovation when it comes to graphics and visuals. Driven by the gamification of sports broadcasting, this trend calls for a greater choice of camera angles, enhanced analysis and additional special features.
Panellists will consider which sports are innovating the most, how content strategies have evolved, the challenges associated with viewers’ multi-screen, multi-platform, multi-sport demands, the art of data-led storytelling, and what the future might hold in terms of personalising content for viewers and fans.
