SES renews Gold SVG Europe sponsorship

SES has returned as a Gold sponsor of SVG Europe. The move comes at the end of a year that has seen the company unveil Astra 1P, its most advanced satellite positioned at 19.2 degrees East.

Following its successful in-orbit raising and performance testing, Astra 1P began start serving public and private broadcasters, sports organisations and content owners, earlier this month.

Equipped with 80 transponders, it can support hundreds of HD TV channels, ensuring the delivery of superior image quality to viewers across key European TV markets.

2024 has also seen the company extend a number of partnerships, including with Telekom Srbija for another four years for satellite services from SES’s Astra 3C satellite at 23.5 degrees East. The company has also extended its long-standing partnership with Sky in the UK through a multi-year contract renewal for satellite capacity and back-up services from SES’s prime video neighbourhood of 28.2/28.5 degrees East.
