1345-1430 Sky Europe F1: Germany, Italy, UK

One of the sports identified as providing potential benefits across the newly-formed Sky Europe was Formula 1. This led to a significant project being formed to scope the requirements and procure the facilities across the three territories. It proved a learning experience for everyone involved — and required teams to explore the way they all operated — but resulted in a great working relationship and a true synergy.

1430-1515 Sky Sports News: Germany, Italy, UK

The three Sky Sports News channels have been finding content synergies and cooperation opportunities around a variety of output to maximise value being brought to SSN customers across Europe. Through working practice, communication and technology the three channels have been able to benefit from sharing resources and material across the territories. Sky News recently in-housed its SNG fleet with a new set of SNGs known as Rangers. This has since rolled out to cover SSN UK and SSN DE. In addition, backpacks (with 3G/4G cellular transmitters) have becoming increasingly popular, enabling content to be delivered much earlier than traditional methods. Content synergies also happen with the newsrooms sharing talent and stories. This session will include output from each of the channels, and a Ranger SNG van will be on-site for the day.
