Sony opts for Gold SVG Europe sponsorship
Sony has returned as a Gold sponsor of SVG Europe.
The company offers a wide range of solutions tailored to the sports landscape, from camera technology to officiating and performance analysis tools. This includes the Networked Live ecosystem of solutions, products, services, and partners, that aims to help users take full advantage of their resources in high-quality mission-critical live production through connected hybrid on-premises and cloud capabilities.
This ecosystem is at the core of newly implemented production environments at RiotGames, with the company installing Sony’s MLS-X1 modular live switcher and expanding its use of Nevion VideoIPath for broadcast control while adding federation of resources, which is designed to allow orchestration systems to collaborate within and between locations.
In addition, Sony cameras were used to capture this year’s Coppa Italia final, while the company also worked with TV2, Ericsson and 3 Denmark to trial a live television broadcast of a football match over a 5G standalone network, leveraging cutting-edge millimetre wave (mmWave) technology.
Recent launches from Sony include the NXCAM HXR-NX800 and XDCAM PXW-Z200 4K handheld cameras, the BRC-AM7 integrated-lens pan-tilt-zoom camera with built-in AI analytics for advanced recognition, and firmware updates for the Burano digital cinema camera.
