Sony renews Gold SVG Europe sponsorship

Sony has returned as a Gold sponsor of SVG Europe. The company offers a range of professional cameras, monitors, switchers and recorders for broadcast and pro AV, along with the Networked Live ecosystem of solutions based on three pillars: network and resource orchestration, media transport, and hybrid processing and operations.

The latest addition to Networked Live is Moxela, a software-based media processing platform running on COTS servers or in the cloud, and designed to transform how broadcasters, production companies, and media organisations transport, process, and monitor live video, audio and data.

Other recent innovations include the launch of the R Series, consisting of the HDC‑5500R, HDC‑5500RV, HDC‑3500R, HDC‑3500RV, and HDC‑3200R, along with the camera control unit HDCU-3500R and the 3D LUT option board HKCU-LUT35. The models inherit features of the multi-format HDC-5000 and HDC-3000 series of system cameras, including high-quality 4K shooting, a wider dynamic range, and no rolling shutter distortion, while the HDC-5500RV and HDC-5500R also support 4K high frame rate shooting, UHB (Ultra High Bitrate) transmission, and 12G-SDI.

Sony is also active in the field of 5G, working with Videe to test how 5G connectivity can streamline live production, enhance mobility, and support more agile on-location workflows, and most recently carrying out a pioneering 5G connectivity trial at the Movistar Arena with Telefónica. Here speeds of several gigabits per second were achieved thanks to the use of the 26GHz band.
