Sony has returned as a Gold sponsor of SVG Europe. The move comes during a year of innovation for the company with a whole host of recent product releases and updates. The aim is to offer a connected ecosystem designed to elevate content creation and streamline media production workflows, whether for news and live production or filmmaking.

As a a member of the steering committee of C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity), a recent highlight for the company is the PXW-Z300, the world’s first camcorder to embed digital signatures directly into video files. Other features include 1/2in 4K 3-CMOS Exmor R sensors, the latest BIONZ XR image processing engine, and a dedicated AI-processing unit.

Also new is the PXW-Z300 camcorder, which incorporates a dedicated AI-processing unit and an image processing engine. This enables high-precision subject (human) recognition based on face, eye, skeletal structure and posture information. It also features an auto-framing function that automatically adjusts composition to keep human subjects centred in the frame.

Meanwhile, the recently launched HDC-F5500V camera made its live broadcast debut during the Usyk vs Dubois fight at Wembley in July. The camera was delivered to technical services supplier, Gravity Media, for host broadcaster DAZN’s production through rental house Livewhire. It was used to capture emotional, cinematic visuals for DAZN’s production of the event.

Also in the world of sport, Sony, BT and SailGP have been testing roaming Full HD cameras over a high-capacity network slice, enabling global broadcasts.
