Sport Production Summit: Grant Best, Steve Jenkins and others to discuss industry changes and challenges
In the first, scene-setting session of the SVG Europe Sport Production Summit taking place in Amsterdam on 12 September, leading industry figures will address the current state and immediate future of the global sports production industry.
Sports production is always on the front line of technological change, whether it was going HD, experimenting with 3D, and now, potentially, driving 4K and second-screen applications. However, all of those new efforts have a financial impact not only on channels but their technology providers too. They also require better planning and coordination between all involved. So where is the industry headed? How are the relationships between OB providers and their clients changing? And how can the demand for next-generation services like 4K be accomplished without adversely impacting current HD needs?
Joining moderator and SVG Europe editorial director Ken Kerschbaumer will be: Grant Best, senior channel executive producer, BT; Steve Jenkins, managing director, NEP Visions; Barry Johnstone, managing director, CTV Outside Broadcasts; Keith Lane, director of operations, Sky Sports; and Alessandro Reitano, director of sports production, Sky Deutschland.
