Sport Production Summit: Lifting the lid on VR at Home and in Stadium
Virtual Reality in all its shapes and forms is set to be probably the hottest, most ubiquitous topic at IBC2016. In Amsterdam, on 8 September at SVG Europe’s Sport Production Summit, we will present a topical session on the subject featuring Massimo Bertolotti, Sky Italia, Head of Innovation and Engineering; Olivier Gaches, UEFA TV, Digital Media Manager; and Tarif Sayed, Nokia, Director, Business Development – Live & VR Player.
Final speakers for this session to be confirmed shortly as we ask, what would it be like to feel you are at an event – courtside at a tennis game, pitchside at an international football match, behind the wheel in motorsport? How can VR/360 increase the immersive experience of a spectator?
What is the business model behind virtual reality and what is needed to get there? What experience can be generated, in the stadium and also in the home? Will that home experience be main, second or third screen?
Can a ‘seat’ at the game be ‘sold’ more than once? What’s next for the technology? Some of Europe’s leading VR trial participants in the live sports area tell us their experiences to date, in a session to be moderated by Ken Kerschbaumer, SVG SVG, Executive Director, Editorial Services.
