Sport Production & Technology Summit: Sports Production Leaders Briefings begin today with Broadcasters & OTTs

SVG Europe’s Sports Production Leaders Briefings begin today with Broadcasters & Over the Top (OTT) providers, kicking off at 4pm (UK time).

Today’s speakers are BBC Sport’s Narinder Ball, outside broadcast engineering manager, DAZN’s Natalie Cornforth, head of global virtual production operations, Sky Deutschland’s vice president of sports production and SVG Europe chair, Alessandro Reitano, Henk Van Meerkerk, head of production at Fox Sports Netherlands, and Kevin McCue, director of technical operations at Sky Sports.

The session will be chaired by SVG Europe editors, Will Strauss and Heather McLean.

Following an introduction from title sponsor Panasonic, the panel will discuss new products and services that have been announced during the IBC period and then share intelligence about their own technical challenges and future priorities. The conversation will take in a wide range of technology subjects including studio operations to remote production, the cloud, graphics, data and more. The panel discussion will be followed by an audience Q&A. The discussion will be followed by a 10 minute case study presentation from Telstra.

These live, one hour long Zoom webinars will take place at 4pm (UK time) across the today, the 16 and 17 September, bringing together key technology decision-makers who’s companies are members of the SVG Europe Advisory Board.

On the panel of producers and host broadcasters taking place on Wednesday 16 September, the speakers are HBS’s head of Infront Productions France, Julien Bertin, the PGA European Tour and Ryder Cup Europe’s Michael Cole, chief technology officer, IMG’s Tom Giles, head of engineering for studios and live galleries, Ronan Donagher, head of technology, broadcast and innovation at World Rugby, Emili Planas, chief technology officer at Mediapro, and David Tippett, head of broadcast at Sunset+Vine. This panel will be chaired by SVG Europe editor, Heather McLean, and SVG editorial director, Ken Kerschbaumer. It will be followed by a 10 minute case study presentation by Vizrt.

Meanwhile on Thursday 17 September, the panel of OB providers will see NEP’s new chief operating officer for broadcast services and media solutions, Andrew Jordan, plus CTV Outside Broadcast’s head of projects, Richard Morton, sitting alongside TV Skyline founder and chief executive officer, Wolfgang Reeh. This panel will be chaired by SVG editorial director, Ken Kerschbaumer, and SVG Europe editor, Will Strauss.

Speakers will be revealing ‘what I saw’ over the timeframe that would previously have been the IBC show in Amsterdam, as well as sharing intelligence about their technical challenges and future priorities.

The panels will be followed by a live audience Q&A.
