Sports content under examination at MESA Europe security summit

At the forthcoming MESA Europe Content Protection Summit – which will take place in London on 21 October – the issue of protecting cross-border programme rights, including live sporting events, will be one of the key topics for discussion.

Protecting live content streams is a major priority for sports rights’ holders as well as the broadcast and OTT community, as an increasing number of illegal streaming sites offer free or low-cost alternative distribution.

During this session delegates will learn about extent of the problem and some of the initiatives and technologies that are being employed in order to protect the theft of this highly valuable content.

Additional discussion topics will include protecting UHD content, disrupting piracy funding, and securing content throughout the production process.

Leading the discussion and contributing to the full day’s programme will be speakers from the BBC, ITV, Virgin, Sky, The Sports Rights Owners Coalition, Klipcorp, Farncombe, Microsoft and Sohonet.

The MESA Europe Content Protection Summit will take place on 21 October at the Grand Connaught Rooms in Central London. The event is being organised in collaboration with CDSA (Content Distribution and Security Association).
