Sports Graphics Forum: First speakers revealed for 29 May event in London

Speakers from Sky Sports, BBC Sport and Warner Bros. Discovery Sports will be delving into the latest advances in augmented reality (AR), extended reality (XR), and virtual production (VP) at the Sports Graphics Forum, sponsored by LIGR, taking place at Kings Place in London on the afternoon of 29 May.

Taking part in a panel discussion entitled ‘Exploring the creative possibilities of virtual production, real-time AR and XR’, Ben Wickham, Sky Sports, director of creative output; John Murphy, BBC Sport, design director; and Alex Dinnin, Warner Bros. Discovery Sports, director, graphics and innovation, will showcase best practices, highlight pitfalls to avoid, and examine future trends. They will also discuss examples, technology options, workflow and operational considerations, as well as creative decision-making.

The half-day mini-conference will also look at using data and graphics to enhance storytelling. More speakers will be announced soon.
