Timeline TV’s Stream Anywhere App has established itself in the post-pandemic broadcast industry, earning a place on SVG Europe’s highly competitive Sports TV Awards 2021 shortlist for ‘Outstanding Production Achievement – Innovation’.

In March 2020, Timeline TV found itself in the same situation as most of the broadcast industry, with work being cancelled daily due to the unfolding pandemic. Amidst the uncertain landscape, Timeline TV’s team rallied together to work out how to keep productions running. Over a two-week period, the core engineering team developed the app to ensure it was ready to be used by clients on live shows. Lightweight broadcast kit was then sent to talent who could assemble the rapid broadcast system with remote engineering support. Using the app, engineers could remotely switch the camera on and off, colour match, rack, zoom and control audio.

The result is high-quality broadcast footage delivered in a COVID-safe environment, where the only alternative is often unreliable conference calling software or complicated broadcast equipment that requires an engineer to set up and operate. Productions that have benefited from the app include The Early Kick-Off Show, MotoGP, WWE, FIFA playoffs, UFC, the German Cup Final, Final Replay ’66, and Formula E.

The winners of the SVG Europe Sports TV Awards 2021, sponsored by Canon, will be announced on Thursday 28 October at Chelsea F.C. during the Sport Production & Technology Summit 2021. Registration for both events is now open to members and sponsors here.
