SportsInnovation 2022: DFL to host sport technology showcase

Sports clubs, federations and technology providers will gather in Düsseldorf, Germany, this week to discuss the latest innovations in broadcast and content, fan experiences, stadium technology and sports performance.

Hosted by DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga, Sports City Düsseldorf and Messe Düsseldorf, organisers say that the centre-piece of SportsInnovation 2022 will once again be ‘Innovation Games’, where technology will be demonstrated in a live environment.

DFL Digital Sports GmbH chief executive Andreas Heyden said: “Showcasing the very latest in sports technology, SportsInnovation is a must attend conference for stakeholders from across the world of elite sport.

“From clubs, leagues and federations, to media, broadcasters and start-ups, the leading sports organisations will have their key people on site in Dusseldorf.”


Speakers at SportsInnovation 2022, which takes place on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 May at the Merkur-Spiel Arena, include Sky executive vice president sports Charly Classen, Little Dot Studios Germany general manager Nils Franck, DAZN senior vice president media Haruka Gruber and NBA executive vice president, media operations and technology Steve Hellmuth.
