SportTech 2017: FOX Sports, ChyronHego and Beyond Sports to discuss latest trials of virtual camera technology

The 2017 edition of SVG Europe’s SportTech summit will take place at the Emirates Stadium, London, on 7 June, and as part of the programme there will be a specially-written case study about FOX Sports ‘New Adventures in Virtual Camera Technology’.

After nearly two years of R&D, FOX Sports in the Netherlands recently went live with an innovative virtual camera system that will make it possible for viewers to feel more intensely immersed in the action of Eredevisie league matches than ever before. At SportTech, FOX Sports and representatives of project partners Beyond Sports and ChyronHego will discuss the objectives of the system and how they expect to apply it in live production over the next 12 months.

The session will be helmed by Henk van Meerkerk, Head of Production at FOX Sports Netherlands, with contributions from Mark Bowden, Head of Product Management Sports at ChyronHego, and Nicolaas Westerhof, Lead Development, Beyond Sports.
