SportTech Europe 2015: EVS’ Petit, Quantel’s Francis to discuss the emergence of live production-over-IP

‘How soon can live IP replace SDI routing?’ is just one of the critical questions that will be addressed during the ‘Live Production Over IP: Charting the Transition from Baseband’ session at SVG Europe’s SportTech Europe 2015 summit, taking place in Manchester, UK, on 6-7 May.

Moderated by SVG Europe contributor David Fox, the session will feature input from Laurent Petit, EVS market solution manager – OB & live production, and Trevor Francis, Quantel director of broadcast, with more names to be released shortly.

Panellists will also mull of the issue of how broadcasters can build IP into their live production systems – encompassing system cameras, switchers, servers and network management – as well the question of whether a central IP switch can reduce the complexity of live 4K production. There will also be discussion of the latest developments in IP-oriented technology unveiled at the NAB Show 2015.
